MCS Datalabs

With a background comprising software development, problem-oriented solution innovation, Big Data and analytics and remote device/sensor design (wearables), MCS is well placed to bring together a host of measures that can be adapted to different scenarios and situations or designed from fresh.

The relatively small size of the company allows for a dynamic approach to challenges which larger organisations can occasionally find structurally unfeasible. As MCS is used to working with larger organisations, companies, authorities and research institutes, we have developed a certain skill of knowing how to fill these microscopic gaps with a view to focusing on driving forward project development and management.

The MCS team itself is home to a variety of disciplines, cultures and native languages which allow for us all to see issues from differing perspectives and to proffer alternative viewpoints and approaches. The scientific and the social science, the analytical and the psychological, the technical and the business minded, are all skillsets covered by the MCS team.

MCS: cutting-edge technology for smart systems and deep-learning applications

Since more than a decade our engineering intelligence empowers customers to utilize tailor-made devices that fit the needs of their envisioned projects. With a background comprising software development, problem-oriented solution innovation, Big Data analytics and remote device/ sensor design (wearables), MCS is well placed to deploy machine-learning solutions.

Effective, Cost-Efficient and Creative

The experience of our professionals includes hot topics such as AI research as well as common deep learning tasks. Among other initiatives, MCS currently undertakes R&D efforts in Deep Reinforcement Learning (RL), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs). The multicultural and multidisciplinary approach of MCS allows the company to tackle issues from various angles with the goal to offer effective, cost-efficient and often creative solutions.

SMARKO®: More Than a Smart Wearable

MCS’ flagship product SMARKO® is a multi-sensor communication wearable device and a sophisticated back office platform with multi-directional communication features. Its uses a variety of IoT functionalities, thereby ensuring scalability and long product life. These functionalities can be adapted to fit other environments and needs. As MCS is used to working with large and medium-sized organisations, and research institutes, the company possesses a skill set that is uniquely suited to implement customized solutions for its customers. It is also our belief that we well placed to assist in this process at a time of great political, economical and social uncertainty within the EU and outside its external borders.

EMYNOS

EMYNOS is a European Commission-funded project, managed by a European research and innovation consortium in which MCS Data Labs participates. The acronym stands for ‘nExt generation eMergencY commuNicatiOnS’. EMYNOS will enable users to make emergency calls across heterogeneous devices such as PCs, TV sets, mobile devices, AAC and haptic devices, using various mature technologies (Session Initiation Protocol, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), WebRTC). The project will also demonstrate how the eCall concept can benefit from the IP technologies by allowing audio-video calls towards the emergency call centers and complementing location information, with photos and videos. Prize-awarded eHealth IoT System

SmarKo® Health® was recently awarded the prestigious Deep Tech Award 2016 from the State of Berlin, co-supported by the European Union.

As the SmarKo® modular architecture is designed in a flexible and customizable way, it can be employed in areas other than digital health: public safety, sports and fitness, ambient living and many more.

Emergency communication is an essential part of MCS’ technological developments, both in European new-standard emergency communication and individual doctor-patient communication.

MCS is a consortium member in the H2020 project EMYNOS (nExt generation eMergencY commuNicatiOnS). The main purpose of this EU-funded initiative is to allow for rich media emergency communications across Europe. Project outputs will enable ambulances, hospitals, police and fire brigades to react fast and more precise based on a wealth of information. The technology is available to MCS for further utilization in emergency and non-emergency cases to the benefit of European call centers and beyond.

Big Data Analytics

The third leg of MCS is Big Data Analytics. MCS provides data collection and analysis, trend projection and prediction built on state-of-the-art technologies such as TensorFlow for deep learning, Hadoop and RethinkDB, creating customized solutions.
